Over the past 12 months, Levvel has undertaken sixteen large scale projects to assess the impact of current and a range of potential future, economic conditions on the delivery of housing. These are used to inform strategic policy decisions regarding the delivery of market and affordable housing taking onboard community and significant infrastructure requirements.
As part of its international work, Levvel is assisting a Middle East Government, in partnership with a specialist Canadian company Terra Housing Consultants, in analysing housing need, conducting an international benchmarking exercise on best practice in delivery of low to middle income housing and helping to establish a government led programme, supported by a new planning policy framework.
On the delivery side, we:
analyse the viability of projects
identify suitable affordable tenures
bring together public and private funding streams
stablish affordable housing companies to own and manage the completed units
In assessing the viability of housing programmes, projects and individual sites, we have developed a distinctive method for assessing site viability, now used by housing authorities and developers. This forms the basis for establishing the real cost of housing, infrastructure and community benefits for specific Master Plan sites as well as district wide and sub regionally. Using the team's expertise we adapt our model to suit local requirements and reflect changing circumstances over time.
