March 2008 With many years experience in the negotiation and delivery of affordable housing, Levvel has established itself as the leading UK consultancy providing advice on affordable housing viability to private sector developers. With PPS3 requiring local authorities to take account of viability when setting affordable housing targets in Development Plan Documents, Levvel is now offering its expertise to the public sector. In March, Levvel was appointed by Wokingham Borough Council to undertake an Affordable Housing Viability Study to inform its emerging Core Strategy. The study will examine the viability of a range of affordable housing percentage requirements, for different development types and tenure mixes across a range of notional site types and areas within the Borough. The final report is due by the end of May and will provide advice to the Council on the implications of policy decisions enabling it to take a more informed view when setting policy through the Core Strategy and DPDs.
